Hinnies serves a rustic and earthy Geordie-influenced British menu in warm surroundings, right on the seafront in Whitley Bay.
Tuck into their hearty, seasonal menu for brunch, lunch or dinner with dishes featuring Geordie-influenced classics to give you a real taste of our beloved North East.
They offer excellent value set lunch and à la carte menus and are open for lunch and dinner from Tuesday-Sunday (closed Sunday evenings). At weekends they serve brunch from 9.30am-11.30am and a delicious Sunday roast from 12-4pm. The restaurant was voted Best Value Restaurant in the North East by The Journal newspaper as Diners’ Choice by OpenTable.
The interior of Hinnies combines coastal colours with warm natural wood tones and almost everything in the restaurant is recycled including the fittings, furniture, bar, accessories, equipment and vintage memorabilia.
The restaurant is very child-friendly and offers a fantastic kids’ menu where they can build their own sandcastle ice-cream dessert as well as activity sheets and crayons to keep them entertained.
Furry babies are also welcome for lunch from Tuesday-Saturday and brunch at weekends – perfect for a walk on the beach with your dog followed by a bite to eat.
Hinnies is owned by Andy and Sam Hook who also run the multi-award winning Blackfriars Restaurant in Newcastle and Dobson & Parnell on Newcastle’s Quayside. Hinnies is inspired by their passion for a good plate of freshly-cooked food served in a relaxed and informal setting.
